PALO ALTO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/27/12 -- Box today announced new enhancements to its security reporting tools and introduced a network of new security partners including HP, Enterproid and Good Technology that deliver advanced data protection capabilities across the entire fabric of the enterprise. Additionally, Box has joined the Cloud Security Alliance to create best practices for secure collaboration in the cloud. Today's product and partner updates make business collaboration incredibly secure without sacrificing the flexibility and freedom that workers require for achieving success.

"Effective CIOs have embraced a decentralized, device-agnostic, user-first approach to empowering their workplace," said Aaron Levie, CEO of Box. "At Box, we're building our service and partnering with enterprise leaders to remove the barriers of aging security policies that stifle innovation and productivity. Today's business professionals have built a proven model for where, when and how they work and it's imperative we provide them with the right balance of services and safeguards that allow effortless collaboration."

Forrester(1) reports 60 percent of information workers' PC and mobile devices are used for both personal and business purposes and that 33 percent of these devices are non-Microsoft PCs or mobile devices. Additionally, Gartner predicts(2) that at least 50 percent of enterprise email users will rely primarily on a browser, tablet or mobile client instead of a desktop client.

Box's new security features and strategic partners provide professionals with a unified collaboration experience regardless of device, location or application. Together, Box and its partners provide more than 82% of the Fortune 500 and 100,000 businesses, including AAA, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Enterasys Networks, a Siemens Enterprise Communications Company, P&G, McAfee and Red Bull, with better visibility, manageability and control over data and devices without any impact to productivity.

"We chose to move to the cloud to give us the flexibility and agility to respond to changes facing our business and to provide a simple way to store, share and access information on any device," said Craig Butler, CIO at AAA. "With the sensitive information we work with everyday, it was critical to implement a cloud solution that allowed us to set IT policies and procedures around how business information is being shared and accessed at AAA. Box provides us with the layer of security and the administrative control necessary for secure collaboration, but with the flexibility needed to promote innovation across the organization."

Box Advanced Security Reports - Better Enterprise Visibility
Detailed tracking, logging and reporting are critical aspects of any comprehensive enterprise security strategy. Box has made enhancements to the Box Administrator Console, specifically to its reporting feature, that allows enterprise organizations to better meet regulatory and compliance requirements. Box advanced reports provide ten times more content visibility and permissions to IT administrators managing user accounts. With more comprehensive insight into how, when and where users collaborate, administrators can assess potential vulnerabilities and optimize security settings accordingly.

Box is also introducing new security partnerships that extend deep security integrations with leaders across the industry. These integrations help to ensure that collaboration across teams is secure outside the firewall while working from any Android or iOS device as well as when sharing data from within the corporate firewall.

Cloud Security Alliance
Box has joined the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), a not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote best practices for providing security assurance within cloud computing and to provide education on the uses of Cloud Computing to help secure all other forms of computing. The Cloud Security Alliance is led by a broad coalition of industry practitioners, corporations, associations and other key stakeholders.

HP - Enterprise Security Cloud Connections Partner Program
Box has joined the HP Enterprise Security Cloud Connections Partner Program to enable greater control and visibility of user activity inside the Box platform. Enterprise businesses running the HP ArcSight ESM platform can define granular governance policies and set advanced security alerts across the network for a centralized view of user activity.

Enterproid - Unified Access to Personal & Professional Profiles on Android
Enterproid created the Divide™ platform, which enables professionals to consolidate work and personal life onto a single Android device using two separate personas. The Divide solution gives enterprise IT the cloud-based tools to secure and manage the work persona without affecting user privacy or the native user experience. Box has partnered with Enterproid to become the default cloud file system for Divide, allowing users to save and share content from their Box accounts within Divide. Enterproid and Box make it simple for mobile business workers to manage their personal and professional lives from one device with the security permissions that IT admins can easily manage.
